CD Rom, Inc. was incorporated in 1988. The three purposes of the Company were:

  • to distribute quality optical disc products
  • to develop optical disc products for clients in our consulting branch
  • to foster research and development of the optical disc industry

These purposes remain today and have expanded into a total eMedia product line featuring eMedia tools that range from creation to destruction. CD Rom, Inc. is the Information Technology Solutions Center for Government and Industry.

CD Rom, Inc. has currently seven awarded and several pending patents, trademarks and copyrights in four fields of science related to optical products.

Our product distribution reaches six of seven continents and we are moving into year 8 of one of the first and most visible General Services Administration contracts in the IT field. Our distribution company, CD Rom, Inc., was awarded the prestigious INC 500 award in 1994 as being the 184th fastest growing privately held company in the US with base year profitable sales of $1.5 million. We have unique Department of Defense (DoD) approvals for the safe and permanent destruction of digital records on CD-ROM, and have authored proposed specifications for safe destruction of digital information on DVDs. We have continued to grow and remain highly profitable since our base year.

In 1990, our Company formed a consulting division called CD Rom-USA, Inc. USA initially produced over 125 CD-ROM titles for various clients which then became their branded products. Our expertise and institutional memory includes the use of state-of-the-art equipment and software, much of which we develop on our own, to meet our clients' needs. This unique approach makes our development work stand apart from our competitors who try to fit everyone's project needs within the capability of off-the-shelf software and hardware solutions. Dr. Roger Hutchison, the company’s CEO, has posted his abbreviated bio on the company’s website which lists some of his consulting projects and clients.

CD Rom, Inc. has a significant percentage of profits that are re-invested each year back into software and hardware development. We hold one very unique patent that we call “Soft Audio” which permits users of standard CD-ROM drives to have access to multimedia sound without the need for a costly sound card.

CD Rom, Inc. also has a patented process called CRI-X3™ which permits users of standard ISO 9660 discs to place upwards of 2.0GB per disc on a capacity of 700MB, and we have developed a third patented technology relating to low bandwidth video. Boeing uses this technology for their parts catalog for some of the military’s most sophisticated flying machines.

In the late 1990’s, we invented on demand for the Department of Defense (DoD) a totally new technology, which completely and permanently destroys digital records on CD-ROM and DVD discs. This was done so that the DoD could have a safe technology to destroy digital records containing classified information. This technology is covered by the industry base patents in this field and is marketed through an affiliate company called D3, Inc. In early 2004, the first commercial products shipped from D3, Inc. utilizing this unique technology so that banks, medical facilities and commercial interests will have a safe way to permanently and completely eradicate digital records thus greatly minimizing their liability.

In early 2003, we started a small research and development team in the Republic of Taiwan whose initial products hit the marketplace in early 2004.

We are proud of our Company and our people and recognize that a business is nothing more than a collection of people with shared ideas. We appreciate that you have taken the time to read about our Company and we always invite your comments. Since we are always on the lookout for talented people to help us in our development work, we invite you to send us your resume for consideration against the needs of our projects. We are quite certain that when you buy a hardware or software product from our Company that you will be pleased with the quality and the support that you will receive as a customer or client of the "oldest privately held CD-Rom Company" in the world.
