CD ROM, Inc. Receives DoD Approval on DX-CD™ Manual CD Destruction Device

CD ROM, Inc. (the Company) announced today that they have received DoD approval on their new product, the DX-CD™ (manual version), which safely destroys CDs (Compact Discs) containing classified and sensitive information.  The DoD has approved the manual unit for safe routine destruction of classified data on CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW (or CD-E) discs.  This is the first and only manual/field portable CD destruction device to receive DoD approval. The Company has previously received DoD approval on its electrically powered office unit for all three types of CD media.  Two US patents now cover the DX-CD product line.

The DX-CD product line is available in both an electric model for routine use in an office environment, and the newer manual unit for field portable and emergency operations.  The product is sold either commercially or with the General Services Administration Contract GSA Schedule GS-35F-0450J.  The electric unit is under $10,000.00 while the manual unit is under $2,500.00 to Government agencies.  Commercial pricing is available on the companies’ web site.
